Leicester City manager Claude Puel has again insisted that Harry Maguire is not for sale after the player reiterated his desire to leave the club this summer.
Maguire has continually been linked with a move to Manchester United or Manchester City this summer. However, the French manager reaffirmed his position to media on Monday morning and the message is simple that his centre-back star is “not for sale”.
“Harry is a valuable player for us and I want to build my team around him. It’s just speculation.” Puel told to media.
“He came into Leicester, played, developed and he needs to continue to improve. He’s a young player with fantastic attributes, an international player, it’s a good thing to have this player at Leicester.
“It’s important to give him a good feeling for the future, to build a good team around him, to keep a good ambition for the future.” Puel added.
Maguire joined Premier League club Leicester City on a five-year contract for £17 million in 2017. But his price has tripled after enjoying good season at King Power Stadium. The England international defender has two goals in 31 appearances for Puel’s side so far.

Manchester City have reportedly put Maguire at the top of their list of summer transfer targets, even though the Foxes insisted their star is not for sale.
According to report, City, along with their rivals United, are ready to race for signing the England international star. The Citizens are confident of signing Maguire and they are willing to offer the defender a bumper contract to lure him from Leicester.
United, meanwhile, want a replacement for Chris Smalling. So far, the Red Devils always have poor form in their back-line and they have conceded 26 goals in 33 competitions in the Premier League campaign.
Jose Mourinho has insisted that he wouldn’t be buying any more players for his club in this summer. However, the Portuguese manager is now changed his mind and interested on landing Maguire to Old Trafford.
United are currently sitting in second place in Premier League standings with 71 points, 16 points behind leaders City and one point ahead of Liverpool in third place.
