Lewis Hamilton Believes Red Bull Will Be Very Fast in the 2021 Mexican Grand Prix

The Mexican Grand Prix is scheduled for this Sunday. Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has predicted  that Red Bull Racing Team as the favourite this wekend despite the Briton won the race in last season.

Max Verstappen is the favourite and Hamilton will be looking for his chances. Hamilton very skilled on Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit. The Briton has won the race twice already, just like his rival Verstappen.

“In 2019 they were quite a bit quicker than us. So, you’d have to say this is a Red Bull track. But we have had success here in the past.” Hamilton said.

“We did win here last time but that was only because Max made a mistake and got penalty which lost him pole, otherwise they were much quicker than us. So we expect that will be very similar this weekend.” Hamilton added.

Hamilton and Verstappen have twice collided significantly this year, at Silverstone and Monza. With five race to go, and 12 points difference between Hamilton and Verstappen, everything is still possible in the 2021 F1 championship.

“Red Bull is in a little better shape at this stage of the championship, also because we haven’t made any major upgrades to the car since the race at Silverstone and they have.” Hamilton said.

When asked how he has managed to keep his cool this season against a Verstappen determined to win his first title, Hamilton said his experience has helped him stay calm.

“I’ve been here a long time and I know Max hasn’t won a championship for a long time so I know what it’s like to attack for first championship, especially in this sport.” Hamilton said.
