Lewis Hamilton wins 2017 Singapore Grand Prix

Mercedes pilot Lewis Hamilton won F1 Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday, while his main opponent Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, suffered a hard blow by being forced to leave following a spectacular in the first round.

It was the fourth victory in five races for the Briton, who outsripped in the order to finish the Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo and his team-mate Valtteri Bottas.

Hamilton,  who took the fifth place start, seemed surprised that luck smiled at him, especially on one of the most difficult tracks to overtake. The front of the peloton opened and the Briton signed his seventh victory of the campaign, and his 60th overall.

Under his victory, Hamilton now has a 28-point lead over Vettel in the F1 standings with six races to negotiate this season. On the other hand, Mercedes now has a 102 point lead over the Italian team in the constructors’ championship.

Vettel seeems to have the main cause of the incident, despite the fact that he was starting from the first position on the starting grid. The accident caused a domino effect, taking with his team-mate Kimi Raikkonen, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and McLaren’s Fernando Alonso.

Vettel had the lead in qualifying the day before, but could not keep up the pace on Sunday. The poor weather may have made Vettel nervous, even though he was managed four victories in Singapore.

After a hesitant start, the quadruple F1 world champion gave a steering wheel to the left in order to block Verstappen. This gesture forced the Dutchman to get stuck on Raikkonen, causing the hook.

Raikkonen’s car then hit Vettel’s wing before drifting onto the track and striking the Red Bull’s Verstappen and McLaren’s Alonso in the wrong place at the wrong time after having a good start.

After a few laps behinf the safety car, the race restart in the seventh pass, while the cars drove the water from the track at high speed.

The German Vettel, meanwhile, was back at the pits to see the extensive damage to his front wing and the left wing .

“Sorry guys. I am really sorry,” Vettel said. “I didn’t see anything. I saw Max, then I saw Kimi come in contact with the left wing of my car, while Max was somewhere behind.” he added.
