Ligue 1 Results: Colored by a red card, Les Parisiens held 1-1 by Reims

The results of PSG vs Stade de Reims in the 2022-2023 Ligue 1 are known. Les Parisiens -nicknamed PSG- failed to gain full points after being held 1-1 by Les Rouges et Blanc -nicknamed Stade de Reims.

The match took place at the Parc des Princes, Paris, France, on Sunday (29/1/2023). In that match, Les Parisiens played with 10 players after Marco Verratti received a red card in the 59th minute. One PSG goal came through Neymar Jr (51′), while one goal for the visitors came through Folarin Balogun (90+6′).

Course of the Match

First Half

As soon as the game started, PSG almost conceded. The game has only been running for two minutes, Le Parisiens goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, made a mistake. Luckily, he was then able to immediately catch the ball.

Reims also had a chance in the 12th minute. Penetrating PSG’s defense, Folarin Balogun kicks off. However, Donnarumma managed to protect his attack.

The visitors were able to contain PSG’s attacks and pose a threat. Reims then almost took the lead in the 24th minute. However, Jens Cajuste’s efforts were driven away by Donnarumma.

With an intense attack from Reims, PSG found it difficult to attack. They haven’t even recorded a shot-on-target until the 30th minute. Their attack was able to be broken by Reims.

The opportunity for PSG itself came in the 45th minute. It’s just that the kick from Lionel Messi has not found the target. The first half ended with the score equally strong, 0-0.

Second Half

As soon as the second half started, PSG tried to play more attacking. They also tried to build attacks in the 48th minute. However, Messi’s shot could only go wide.

After struggling, PSG finally broke the deadlock in the 51st minute. Neymar managed to score a goal through his kick. He grabbed a wild ball, after Messi’s shot bounced.

It’s just that things didn’t go well for PSG. They have to play with 10 players since the 59th minute. This was after Marco Verratti received a straight red card, following a violent foul.

Despite the deficit in the number of players, PSG can continue to attack. They even almost doubled their lead in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, Kylian Mbappe’s kick was saved by Reims goalkeeper, Yehvann Diouf.

PSG was actually able to put the ball back into Reims’ goal in the 65th minute. Even so, Achraf Hakimi’s goal was disallowed by VAR, after being deemed offside first.

Not wanting to be outdone, Reims tried to attack. They almost equalized in the 76th minute. However, Donnarumma catches Balogun’s attack.

Reims then managed to equalize in injury time. precisely in the 90+5 minute, Balogun scored a goal with his kick. the goal ensured the game ended in a draw, 1-1.
