On Thursday 1 June 2023 yesterday, PSG coach, Christophe Galtier, confirmed that Lionel Messi will leave the club. He said that the match against Clermont would be the last appearance of the superstar with Les Parisiens – PSG’s nickname.
“I had the rare opportunity to coach the best players in world history. That will be Leo’s last fight at the Parc des Princes against Clermont,” said Galtier, as reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Lionel Messi’s contract with PSG will expire on June 30, 2023 and Barcelona have made efforts to return him to Camp Nou. Coach Xavi Hernandez, who became a teammate of Messi, wants him to return.
Immediately knowing that Messi would leave PSG, Xavi began to move. He said openly that he wanted Messi to return to Camp Nou.
“Leo Messi will decide his future next week. He had my blessing 100 per cent to join,” Xavi told Mundo Deportivo.

Apart from Barcelona, Lionel Messi also has a tempting offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal. Reportedly, the Saudi Arabian club is ready to pay him 600 million euros in a two-year contract.
