Liverpool won 4-2 over Burnley in the continuation of the English Premier League match at Anfield Stadium on Sunday (10/3). Liverpool immediately pushed through Adam Lallana’s bite in the fourth minute. His cross was targeted at Roberto Firmino, but was cut by Tom Heaton.
Liverpool were immediately shocked by the visitors who scored spectacular goals quickly. Through Ashley Westwood’s corner kick breaking into the Liverpool goal in the sixth minute. The goal was protested by the Reds goalkeeper Alisson Becker. Because, Becker felt his movement to anticipate the ball was blocked by Burnley players.
A quick Liverpool attack in the 14th minute had a chance. Mohamed Salah’s pass was received by Firmino and tried to finish with a shot, but hit Tarkowski and ended narrowly above the goal.
Five minutes later, Liverpool equalized. Salah made a one-two pass with Georginio Wijnaldum on the right and fired a horizontal cross. Heaton tried to cut the bait, but the ball was released after his efforts disrupted by Tarkowski’s feet. The ball rolled in the direction of Firmino and was easily struck on goal.
Midway through the first half Juergen Klopp’s side were able to reverse the position through Sadio Mane’s 29th-minute goal utilizing an imperfect Burnley player’s ball while guarding Salah.
In the second half, Liverpool returned to attack Burnley to add to the advantage. Firmino almost scored his second goal early in the second half. But the Brazilian’s right-footed shot was sideways thin on the right post of Burnley’s goal.
Liverpool finally could add to the advantage in the 68th minute through Firmino. The goal came from goalkeeper Tom Heaton’s mistake who was wrong in making a goal kick.
The ball that Heaton kicked actually fell on Salah’s feet. Charlie Taylor had interrupted Salah’s movement and could grab the ball. But Taylor’s exile ball moves wildly without being escorted by Burnley players because Heaton has left the goal to participate in blocking the wrong goal.
Firmino, who moved freely without being guarded by opposing players, easily taking the ball into Burnley’s goal, while scoring his second goal in the match.
Sadio Mane almost scored his second goal in this match if it could be faster to grab Trent Alexander Arnold’s pass in the 81st minute. But Mane shoot using Arnold’s assist just hit the crossbar.
The goal in Burnley’s goal almost increased in the 88th minute. Only Tom Heaton moved quickly dismissing Mohamed Salah’s foot kick.
Burnley had reduced the position to 2-3 in injury time through Johann Gudmundsson’s goal.
But Mane again extended the distance for Liverpol with his late goal. Mane scored a goal with his left foot after going past the keeper Heaton. Liverpool won 4-2.
