Liverpool were so dominant in the first round, even recording 85 percent ball possession. But that doesn’t mean much because the Reds failed to score the second goal in the first 45 minutes.

Liverpool’s comfortable position did not last long. Cardiff were able to reduce the position to 2-1 in the 77th minute. Callum Paterson managed to conquer Alisson and make Cardiff again have the hope of gaining points.
Cardiff was eventually down by Liverpool’s third goal scored by Xherdan Shaqiri in the 83rd minute. Shaqiri’s goal began with Salah’s movement on the left side of the opponent’s defense. Salah then send the ball to Shaqiri. After receiving the ball, Shaqiri then kicked the ball towards the right corner of the goal without being blocked by Etheridge.
Four minutes later, Liverpool enlarged the position to 4-1. Salah’s breakthrough cross was forwarded by Mane’s who ran quickly to greet the ball with a hard kick. 4-1 score lasts until the end of the match.
