Liverpool Potentially Wins Sponsor to Become World’s Most Expensive Jersey

Liverpool’s success in recent years has boosted the selling value of the team. As a result, Liverpool has the potential to reap the benefits of sponsorship in a new contract.

It is said that the club nicknamed the Reds is in communication with Standard Chartered for sponsorship in the next period. Currently, Standard Chartered is still plastered on Liverpool’s costume. The British bank is the main sponsor of the Merseyside club. The Liverpool-Standard Chartered partnership will end in the 2022-23 season with a value of £40 million per year. It seems that both parties are very satisfied with the business relationship that has been built so far.

Daily Mail claim Liverpool have started contract renewal talks. Because of the success achieved by the club nicknamed The Reds, the selling value of the team made by Juergen Klopp soared. Standard Chartered is reportedly ready to double the value of the cooperation contract. This means that one of the major British banks is willing to disburse 80 million pounds in a new partnership starting the 2023-24 season.

This nominal will make Liverpool listed as the club with the most expensive jersey in world football. The predicate of the most expensive jersey currently belongs to Barcelona as they earn 70 million euros from Spotify starting in the summer of 2022.

Indeed, Liverpool’s achievements are quite impressive. The Reds grabbed the Premier League title, the highest caste of the English League, in the 2019-20 season. One season before lifting the Premier League trophy, the Reds were the best in the 2018-19 Champions League stage.

In the 2021-22 season, Liverpool has the potential to win four titles, aka quadruple, after sealing the English League Cup trophy. Mohamed Salah et al have reached the FA Cup final and will play Chelsea on May 14. They are also close to the Champions League final because of the 2-0 victory over Villarreal in the first leg of the semifinals. The second leg will take place in the middle of this week.

Liverpool will travel to the headquarters of the Spanish League club. In the Premier League stage, Liverpool is ranked second with a collection of 82 points from 34 matches that have been played. Jurgen Klopp’s men continue to threaten Manchester City because they are only one point adrift of the competition with four games remaining.
