Liverpool emerged as the 2018/19 Premier League I Merseyside Derby winner. Goals at the end of injury time determine Liverpool’s victory over Everton 1-0. Origi scored the winner goal after taking advantage of Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford’s mistake.
Divock Origi only played about 10 minutes on the field. But he had many things that could make him the main character in Liverpool’s match against Everton in the Premier League. After entering the super sub Daniel Sturridge to replace Mohamed Salah, Juergen Klopp saw Liverpool still lacking in power in the attacking line. That’s why Klopp decided to enter Origi to replace Roberto Firmino who was less effective in the match.
Origi then starts the action impressively. His movement on the left side of the Everton defense was quite troublesome and produced a corner. Van Dijk himself was seen turning around as a sign of disappointment over the kick. But it turned out the ball hit the bar, also caused by Jordan Pickford mistake, and instead returned to the field. Origi still seems determined to chase the ball and it works. He was not guarded in front of goal and easily struck the ball into the goal with a header.
“I know that there will be a wild ball and then I just play my instincts. I really want to help the team and give everything I can.”

Origi himself considers the winning goal not considered as luck only.
“Everybody did pressing and we continued to play with our awareness that we could win this fight. The goal at the end of the match gave us a great feeling. I was very happy,” Origi said.
