Liverpool vs Tottenham Result: Score 5-1

Liverpool officially secured the 2024/2025 Premier League title after crushing Tottenham with a landslide score of 5-1. The Reds were unstoppable, too tough in front of their own supporters.

Sunday, April 27, 2025, Liverpool faced Tottenham at Anfield in the 24th week of the 2024/2025 Premier League. Arne Slot’s squad only needed one more point to be officially confirmed as champions this season.

This time, Tottenham scored first through Dominic Solanke’s action in the 12th minute. However, Liverpool then turned the score around through goals from Luis Diaz (16′), Alexis Mac Allister (24′), Cody Gakpo (34′), Mohamed Salah (63′), and Destiny Udogie’s own goal (69′).

The additional three points make Liverpool comfortable at the top of the standings with 82 points from 34 matches. Far ahead of Arsenal in second place (67) and certainly can no longer be caught up.

The match started and Liverpool immediately attacked. In the 9th minute, Gakpo tried to do a scissor kick, but the ball was still just wide.

In the 12th minute, a surprise from the away team. Tottenham got a free kick scheme. Maddison’s pass bounced right towards Solanke who was ready to head it hard. Goal! Score 0-1.

In the 16th minute, Liverpool immediately responded. Salah penetrated to the inside and sent a through ball to Szoboszlai. The ball was then continued by Szobozlai to the middle of the penalty box, greeted by Diaz with an accurate touch. Goal! Score 1-1.

In the 20th minute, Gakpo managed to score Liverpool’s second goal, but it was disallowed by the referee. The scheme was almost similar to Diaz’s goal, but this time the linesman raised the offside flag. Score 1-1.

In the 24th minute, Liverpool turned the lead around. Gravenberck was brought down by an opponent on the edge of the penalty box, but the ball went to Mac Allister and the referee gave a play-on. The Argentine midfielder then released a rocket shot and a goal! Score 2-1.

34th minute, Liverpool are getting further away. Corner kick scheme, Mac Allister’s pass failed to be cleared by Bervall. The ball was then received by Gakpo and continued with an accurate shot. Goal! Score 3-1.

The match resumed and Liverpool looked increasingly comfortable in control. Tottenham tried to fight back, but did not really threaten. 10 minutes passed.

63rd minute, Liverpool’s fourth goal, this time it was Mohamed Salah’s turn. Szoboszlai penetrated into the middle of the penalty box, and passed the ball to the right side. Salah received it, penetrated inside, and shot with his left foot. Goal! Score 4-1.

69th minute, Liverpool were getting further away with an own goal by Destiny Udogie. A combination of Alexander-Arnold and Mac Allister. Udogie tried to stop the ball, but instead pushed it into his own goal. Goal! Score 5-1.

Tottenham did everything they could to respond in the remaining 20 minutes of the match. Substitutions were made, but Liverpool were already too comfortable playing in front of their own supporters.

Score 5-1. Victory at Anfield. Liverpool wins the 2024/2025 Premier League.
