Liverpool vs West Ham Result: Score 2-1

English Premier League giants Liverpool won dramatically over West Ham in the 32nd week of the 2024/2025 Premier League at Anfield, Sunday (13/04/2025).

This match was not easy for Liverpool. West Ham was able to provide fierce resistance, especially in the second half.

Liverpool’s goals were scored by Luis Diaz and Virgil van Dijk. Meanwhile, West Ham’s goal was scored by Andrew Robertson’s own goal.

This result means that Liverpool now have 76 points from 32 matches and are getting closer to winning the 2024/2025 Premier League title. Meanwhile, West Ham is in 17th position with a collection of 35 points.

Liverpool immediately tried to put pressure on West Ham’s defense as soon as the match started. Their attack was driven by Mohamed Salah.

In the sixth minute, Liverpool got a chance from Luis Diaz’s kick from the left halfspace of the penalty box. However, the ball was still blocked by the West Ham goalkeeper.

In the 15th minute, Liverpool threatened from Curtis Jones’ hard, flat shot, after receiving a pass from Salah. But his shot went straight into the arms of the West Ham goalkeeper.

In the 18th minute, Salah successfully outwitted the West Ham defender and moved into the penalty box from the right flank. He then gave a diagonal pass to the far post and the ball was pounced on by Luis Diaz. 1-0!

In the 21st minute, West Ham almost scored an equalizer. Carlos Soler charged into the penalty box but was blocked by Alisson. Kudus was able to control the loose ball and he then made a chip shot. But the ball only hit the crossbar.

In the 33rd minute, Liverpool threatened again from a shot by Mac Allister, after receiving a pass from Mohamed Salah. But his shot was still blocked by the West Ham goalkeeper.

The duel then went fiercely and tightly. No additional goals were scored in the remaining first half. Liverpool 1-0 West Ham.

In the second half, Liverpool still tried to continue to pressure West Ham’s defense. But the visitors were able to defend solidly.

The duel became tough. Both teams initially had difficulty creating opportunities. However, in the 67th minute, West Ham got a golden opportunity. Jarrod Bowen escaped the offside trap and was face to face with Alisson in the penalty box. Bowen tried to chip but the effort was still thwarted by the Brazilian goalkeeper.

In the 71st minute, West Ham got a chance. Kudus released a left-footed shot from the left side of the goal but the ball was still secured by Alisson.

In the 86th minute, Liverpool got a disaster. They failed to block West Ham’s attack from the left flank. Wan-Bissaka sent a cross into the middle of the penalty box and the ball was blocked by Virgil van Dijk but bounced off Andrew Robertson’s foot and went into his own goal. 1-1!

Liverpool then put pressure on West Ham’s defense. In the 89th minute, they were able to score again against The Hammers. They got a corner kick on the left side of the away team’s goal. Mac Allister’s execution was headed by Van Dijk in the middle of the penalty box. 2-1!

The referee then gave seven minutes of additional time. But West Ham couldn’t score a reply and Liverpool won dramatically 2-1!
