Luis Enrique Will Reportedly to Replace Graham Potter at Chelsea

Former Barcelona and Spain coach Luis Enrique was the favourite to replace Graham Potter at Chelsea according to reports.

Potter has been sacked as Chelsea manager after less than seven months in charge. It comes after their dismal 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday.

Chelsea are 11th in the Premier League and would again like to speak to Enrique, who has been out of work since leaving Spain nasional team after the World Cup in Qatar.

According to reports, Enrique, has traveled to London to close the deal alongside his close friend, Ivan de La Pena, who is managing the deal with the club.

Enrique has said that his dream is to coach in England’s Premier League. If he signs for Chelsea, the morbidity will be felt in the next quarterfinal matchup against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

“I’d like to manage in England at some point. My wife wouldn’t like the weather, she’s from Barcelona and likes the sun. It would depend on the team and the football they played.” Enrique.

“I follow above all the Premier [League] because I would like to go to England to work.” Enrique added.

Enrique was the former Barcelona coach. During his time at Camp Nou, there were 181 matches played, with an incredible 138 wins, 22 draws and only 21 defeats.

The 52-year-old Spaniard brought nine titles for Barcelona such as: Champions League (2014/15), Club World Cup (2015), UEFA Super Cup (2015), Spanish Super Cup (2016), La Liga (2014) /15 and 2015/16) and Copa del Rey (2014/15, 2015/16 and 2016/17).

Enrique was the coach who headed the famous MSN trio, formed by Lionel Messi, Neymar and Suarez, who enchanted the world of football.

He led Spain to the semifinals of the Euro Cup (2020), was runner-up in the League of Nations (2020/21) and was eliminated in the round of 16 of the World Cup in Qatar for the Morocco team.
