Real Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane, chose to be modest after his team won the match against Atletico Madrid in the 2020-2021 Spanish League continued match. Playing at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, Sunday (13/12/2020) early morning WIB, Madrid won 2-0.
Madrid’s victory was confirmed by Casemiro, who scored one goal plus an own goal from Atletico’s Jan Oblak. This result is certainly very encouraging because this is a prestigious match called the Madrid Derby.
In addition, this victory feels special because they managed to achieve success in the last three matches. Prior to this, they managed to win other big matches such as beating Sevilla 1-0 and Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League with a score of 2-0.
“We confirm what we did in the previous two matches,” said Zidane, quoting from Goal, Sunday (13/12/2020).
“We competed very well throughout the match,” added the French passport coach.
Even so, Zidane chose not to laugh. He admitted that his team still had a long way to go. Even on the standings, Madrid is still in third place with a collection of 23 points. Meanwhile, Atletico are still in the top position.
“They know that together we can do a lot of good things as a team and we’ve shown that tonight,” he continued.
“We have proven to everyone that Madrid can perform well. I am happy because, like there are things that hurt you, but also make you stronger, “he continued.
“Criticism is part of football, you have to endure it, but the players have the character to deal with it and that’s what you get from this team,” he added.
This result also brings Madrid closer to Atletico, who are still at the top of the 2020-2021 Spanish League standings. Currently, Madrid sit in third place with a collection of 23 points and three points difference with Atletico.
