Asian casino market is evolving and witnessing a healthy rising trend and this is the reason more and more companies are eyeing on the Asian gambling market and doing their research currently. As soon as they get a right opportunity they are ready to take a plunge and invest big to reap better rewards. With the growing market and more and more people associating with this industry, there is a huge potential where companies can invest in Asian markets and create a mark for their products. Recently a Malaysian company obtained approval from Cambodia’s council of Ministers to develop hotels and casinos in Sihanoukville as per the local media reports.
A locally registered subsidiary of SV International, Salient Ventures recently announced through a promotional video hat it would transform the coastal city into the “Macau of Southeast Asia”. In this move, they are buying every potential development lot in Sihanoukville’s port area as well as they are also purchasing existing hotels for renovation and gearing up to obtain gaming licenses.
The company along with running casinos also gets the approval which allows them to operate online gaming, nightclubs, karaoke bars, massage parlours and dog racing. The company has already been granted an approval to operate casinos in the coastal city but has not submitted any license application to run casinos here as per the statement of Ros Phirun, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Economics and Finance. The company has not submitted any relevant documents with the ministry so there are no details which can be revealed about their plans or investments as quoted by Phenom Post.
SC group was not reachable for any comments but Ly, Koung, owner of the Majestic Hotel on Victory Hill in Sihanoukville confirmed company’s plan to invest in the coastal city.
Ly Koung further added that as per the plan of Salient Ventures they wish to make Sihanoukville into another Macau and his hotel has struck a partnership deal with the SV to bring tourists from surrounding countries to their casino. Thus, this is a win-win for both of them and this is certainly going to boost tourism in this coastal area.
With this development, more companies will show their interest in coming future and this is going to add to the economy here and also offering ample of job opportunities to many in this region.
