United manager Jose Mourinho admits that he is “worried” about his players’ condition ahead of preseason preparations this summer.
“I’m worried because I’m not training and then I go the Premier League without lots of players, but it is what it is and we have to try and make the best out of it with the players we have here,” Mourinho said.
“I’m not worried about playing Liverpool here or Real Madrid or Milan, I’m not worried if we lose badly. The preseason is very bad, the positive thing of the preseason is only for the young boys that have fantastic opportunity to train with us.”
According to reports, United had 12 players take part in the World Cup, including Romelu Lukaku, Marouane Fellaini, Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford, David de Gea, and the winner Paul Pogba.
Meanwhile, Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez was also not present. The former Barcelona player was denied US visa for this month’s preseason tour due to a 16-month suspended jail sentence that he accepted in Spain for tax fraud earlier this year.
According to reports, the 29-year-old striker has been working with his lawyer Ruben Povea to resolve the issue.

United remain hopeful that their striker will join up on their tour of the US, but Mourinho told the club are working to fix the problem but he admitted he doesn’t know when Sanchez will arrive in the US.
“It’s really bad. It is not good for him, for me, for the team but there is no one to blame. The club is making the effort,” Mourinho said.
“I have to respect the US authorities in their process of visa but hopefully he joins us later because could be important to work [Anthony] Martial and [Juan Mata, which is the players we have in attack for start of the season.” former Chelsea manager added.
United will begin their preseason schedule with a five-game tour of the US and a friendly against the Germany giant Bayern Munich, United kick-off the new EPL on Aug. 9.
