Manchester City vs Real Madrid Results: Score 1-1 (Agg. 4-4; Pen. 3-4)

Real Madrid managed to emerge victorious in a tough duel against Manchester City, second leg of the 2023/2024 Champions League quarter-final, Wednesday (17/4/2024). The match ended in a 1-1 draw, Madrid won on penalties with a score of 4-3.

The first leg meeting at the Santiago Bernabeu last week ended in a 3-3 draw. Now, playing at the Etihad Stadium, Man City is certainly more favored than the visiting team.

The match was relatively open from the first minute. Man City dominated more, but Madrid fought back very well.

This time Madrid even took the lead through Rodrygo’s goal in the 12th minute. Man City were only able to equalize in the second half through the action of Kevin De Bruyne (76′).

The 1-1 score lasted for 120 minutes. The match continued into a penalty shootout. Two Man City kickers failed, only one Madrid kicker failed. Los Blancos also won with a score of 4-3.

This victory took Real Madrid to the semifinals of the 2023/2024 Champions League. The defending champion Man City had to be eliminated.
