Manchester United coach, Erik ten Hag, called the problem of performance consistency a challenge ahead of facing Brentford in the eighth week of the 2023-2024 Premier League. This inconsistency is the reason the Red Devils have been unstable in the last few matches.
The Manchester United vs Brentford match will be held at Old Trafford Stadium, Saturday (7/10/2023). The hosts are currently in a slump after last week losing 0-1 to Crystal Palace and falling 2-3 to Galatasaray at home.
Ten Hag said his team continues to carry out a series of evaluations to improve performance. He believes that currently the problem at Manchester United is performance consistency.
“Consistency, that’s the problem we’re struggling with. In some parts of the game, in most of the game, I think we did a lot of things right,” ten Hag, quoted from Manchester United’s official website, Saturday (7/10/2023).
The Dutch coach said he was trying to make Man United perform better when hosting opposing teams. He doesn’t want to lose any more points in the next match.
“Now we have to do the right thing, defend and work, be consistent with communication,” stressed the 53 year old coach.
Furthermore, ten Hag saw that his team actually displayed good cooperation in every match. That could be an important point to maintain while hoping for improvement. “More than 95 percent of the time, we (act) as a team. So, continue to do (this) fully. So move on,” stressed the former Ajax Amsterdam coach.
Currently, Man United is stranded in 10th place with nine points from seven matches. Meanwhile, Brentford is in 14th place with a difference of just over two points.
