Manchester United have finally ended their Premier League season on a high as they are now placed at third place in the ranks table behind Manchester City and Arsenal, following their convincing 4-1 victory over arch rivals Chelsea at Old Trafford on Thursday. Now that United have made it to the Top 4 of the rankings, they have thus qualified for the next Champions League season.

The match between Manchester United and Chelsea was a true spectacle of the on-field capabilities of the Reds as they hammered the Blue team 4-1 secure a top-four finish in the Premier League. It was goals from Casemiro, Anthony Martial, Bruno Fernandes, and Marcus Rashford that steered Team United to a thumping victory.

Manchester United entirely dominated the match since the beginning, scoring their opening goal just 6 minutes into the first half. The next goal came during the first half extra-time when Brazilian Midfielder Anthony Marshall converted a sharp no-look pass from Jadon Sancho.

Goal no. 3 for United came in the 73rd minuted following a penalty after Bruno Fernandes was tripped by Fofana inside the penalty box after Bruno’s fiery attempt hit the cross bar. Bruno converted the spot, pushing Manchester United three goals clear of Chelsea. Just 5 minutes later, Marcus Rashford scored the final goal for Manchester after he skipped past Fofana before beating Kepa Arrizabalaga to get the goal after getting blocked the first time.

Manchester came inches close to getting a fifth goal a couple of minutes later when fellow substitute Alejandro Garnacho fired a shot at the goal but it hit the crossbar. 78 minutes into the match, United were already leading by 4 goals to 0. The only goal from Chelsea’s side came from the boots of Joao Felix, that too right at the end of the game at 89 minutes, but the damage was already done till then. It was Manchester United having the last laugh with a thumping 4-1 victory.

The win at Old Trafford also marked the 17th straight victory for the Men in Red at the stadium, clearly showing their dominance on the home turf. Following the emphatic victory, the three-time European Champions Manchester United have qualified for the next Champions League season, having failed to qualify last time.

As per the current Premier League rankings, Manchester United, are now at third place with 72 points from 37 games, 2 points ahead of Newcastle United and 6 points clear of Liverpool, who are at fourth and fifth place respectively. Chelsea on the other hand have struggled the entire season are now placed at 12th spot with 43 points from 37 games, 1 point behind Crystal Palace.

Manchester United will next be facing off against the top ranked Premier League team, Manchester City in the FA Cup final on June 3. Manchester City have had a fantastic Premier League season, finishing at the top spot with 86 points from 37 games.
