Manchester United’s Paul Pogba looks forward to Barcelona clash

Manchester United host Barcelona on 10 April before the return the following week, with the winners facing a semi-final against Liverpool or Porto.

Between them the clubs have eight Champions League titles, Barcelona most recently in 2015 and Manchester United not since 2008.

Paul Pogba has said United have no fear of facing Barcelona after drawing them in the Champions League quarter-finals.

“Barcelona are a team I always watch, You can always learn as a midfielder. I like watching football. Their system, their culture. It can always help me.” Pogba said.

“Barcelona is a great team, one of the best in the world. They have extraordinary players and it’s a match where I want to have fun.

“Playing against one of the best teams in the world is always a pleasure. It’s a team I lost against in the Champions League final [with Juventus in 2015]. It’s always good to play against the best.” Pogba added.

Former Juventus superstars added the Red Devils were not scared to face anyone, having eliminated Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 when arriving at Parc des Princes 2-0 down. A stoppage-time Marcus Rashford goal from a penalty awarded by VAR clinched the comeback.

“It’s pretty strange. I think there was more pressure against PSG than there was in the final of the World Cup. The penalty of Rashford? I was stressed, it was crazy. When you play football, you always believe even after a 2-0 defeat.” Pogba said.

“I was surprised because it was PSG, we know the players they have. In addition, we played at the Parc des Princes so they had the advantage. I was surprised especially as it happened, but I was happy because we progressed.” he added.

Although United will be at Old Trafford for the first leg, their boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is far from unhappy about that fact.

“I prefer that the second leg be played in the Camp Nou which is probably different from 99.9 percent of coaches,” Solskjaer said.

“If you can get a decent result at home then we can go away and beat anyone, like we did in Paris. We are looking forward to this tie and are happy to be here. If you want to win the Champions League, you must beat anyone.” Solskjaer added.
