Manny Pacquiao has defended his secondary welterweight title by a unanimous decision over Adrien Broner, on Saturday night in Las Vegas. The judges handed down scores of 117-111, 116-112 and 116-112.
The Filipino dominated his American opponent, who is 11 years his junior, connecting with more than twice as many punches.
He signed the 61st victory (39 before the limit) of his professional career, started in 1995, for seven defeats and two draws.
Afterwards, Pacquiao said he would be open to a rematch with unbeaten American Floyd Mayweather, who defeated him in 2015.
“Tell [Floyd Mayweather] to come back to the ring and then we will fight. I’m willing to fight him again, to fight Floyd Mayweather.” Pacquiao said.
Mayweather gave no reaction when the camera panned on him as he opted to stay out of the ring and the limelight with the crowd desperate to learn if the two will have another dust-up.
“Pac-Man” put in play for the first time his title “regular”, the least prestigious of the two awarded by the WBA, he won last July in Kuala Lumpur against the Argentine Lucas Matthysse, beaten by stop of the referee at the seventh round.
In the semifinals of the gala, Marcus Browne took the interim WBA Light Heavyweight title when he won a unanimous decision over a bloody Badou Jack. Judges gave 116-111, 117-110 and 119-108 cards in favor of former Olympian
What will hold the attention of this fight, however, is the amount of blood flowing from the cut to Jack’s forehead.

Browne had the upper hand at the beginning of the fight as he seemed to have more energy than his rival and he managed to reach it repeatedly.
The fight took a turn in the seventh round when a collision between the heads of the two pugilists led to a long and deep cut on Jack’s forehead. The latter only increased as the fight progressed and although Jack tried to be a little more aggressive, Browne remained in control to sign the victory.
The latter remains undefeated in 23 fights (23-0, 16 KOs), while Jack takes a second loss since the beginning of his career (22-2-3, 13 KOs)
