Marc Marquez Demands Honda a Winning Project

Marc Marquez on Wednesday was given the go-ahead from the attending doctors to restart his usual practise routine.

The Spaniard rider will have to step up his training sessions to get back to his old level and do what he did in the past on the Honda RC213.

That will not only be a challenge for him personally, but also for HRC, which is currently in the corner where the blows fall and is no longer a shadow of the manufacturer with which Marquez managed to achieve success after injury.

“I am asking for a change in the way of working. I feel that a lot of information and good ideas are being lost at the moment simply because of the tone in which they are said.” Marquez said.

“I give Honda a margin for the duration of my contract. It is the brand of my dreams, they have always respected me and I am grateful to them for that. But as long as I’m at the start as an active driver, I want a winning project.” Marquez added.

Marquez said the core of the problem is not so much in the engine, but in the way the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer works within the MotoGP project.

The six-time MotoGP world champion did not mince words at the Red Bull Ring last weekend. He sounded determined and self-assured that he would be physically fit again in the long run and that he would be willing and able to compete again for the top prizes in the premier class.

“Honda, of course, is lot lost, but we are in a difficult period where it is very easy to panic. In moments like these, decisions are often made too quickly in panic that you may regret afterwards.” Marquez said.

“The great thing, however, is that within the Honda MotoGP project there is no one blindfolded, everyone wants the best and is open to improvements and changes.” he added.

Marquez insisted that he will do everything he can, there is no doubt about that, but he also clearly hinted that he cannot do alone and that something must also be done on the side of his team.
