Ducati has officially announced that they have chosen Marc Marquez, as Francesco Bagnaia’s teammate for the 2025 MotoGP season.
Bagnaia is currently on a long-term deal as the official Ducati team’s star rider, and his current teammate, Enea Bastianini, has a contract expiring at the end of the season, leaving room for Ducati to replace him.
Marquez, known for his aggressive riding style and unparalleled racecraft, has proven himself to be one of the greatest riders in the history of MotoGP.
The Spaniard has clinched six premier class titles, displaying an unwavering determination and exceptional skill on the track.
Marquez did indeed bounce back from his slump after leaving Honda. With Gresini Racing, using an old Desmosedici.
He managed to step onto the podium three times in the main races and became the runner-up five times in sprint races.
The former Honda rider is currently in third place in the standings this season with 136 points from seven races.
When discussing his approach, Marquez said that he remains silent and gives his all, aiming to provide 100 percent effort in every situation.
He mentioned that there are certain circumstances that make him feel comfortable.
“So we’ll see. I’m just trying to give 100 percent to have more opportunities.” Marquez said.
“Obviously if I continue on that way in 2025 and 2026 the target will be different, and the target will be fighting for the championship.
“For that reason, if you want to fight for the championship you need to have the newest material on your bike to have more chances.” he added.
Ducati General General Manager, Gigi Dall’Igna, doesn’t provide much information. However, he confirms this and says that it is not easy to make that decision.
“It is not easy to resolve everything. We are still working on it,” Dall’Igna said.
“What is certain is that we will announce this as soon as possible, but I cannot provide a specific date,” he added.
