Marc Marquez underwent another medical check-up at the Ruber Internacional Hospital in Madrid six weeks after his fourth upper arm surgery in the USA.
The medical team Dr. Joaquin Sanchez Sotelo, Dr. Samuel Antuna and Dr. Angel Cotorro has given the green light to begin Marquez’s next phase of his recovery and begin
“At the medical check-up of Marc Marquez, six weeks after surgery on his right humerus, good clinical and radiological evolution has been confirmed, enabling progress in the mobility and strength recovery program of the right arm. The patient will undergo a new examination in six weeks.” Dr. Sotelo said.
In contrast to earlier rumours, Marquez won’t be riding a MotoGP bike anytime soon. However, the Repsol Honda Team rider will show himself again in the paddock in the not too long term, not as a rider, not as a fan but as a participate in the Honda pit box, in order to be able to follow the development of the Honda RC213V up close and provide the Honda engineers with important feedback.
“We have taken another important step in the recovery process. At this second check-up, the doctors confirmed that the humerus is consolidating well, so we can begin physiotherapy on the right arm and cardio training.” Marquez said.
“I am very happy to be able to regain mobility in my arm to continue with the recovery process and I would like to thank the entire medical team for their treatment and attention.” Marquez added.
The Spaniard made six starts earlier this season, missing both the Indonesian and Argentinean rounds after a heavy crash in Mandalika left him with vision problems, with a best result of fourth place at Jerez.
Marquez remains the best-placed Honda rider in the standings, in 13th, despite missing the past three races.
