Marcos Giron pocketed the first victory of his career at the Munich Open (BMW Open) in the 2023 season after knocking out the seeded players.
The American battled it out to claim a 6-1 5-7 6-2 victory over seventh seed Roberto Carballes Baena in his second Munich Open appearance.
“I feel really happy about this win,” said Giron. “That’s a typical three-set match. In the first set, I stepped on the gas and played amazingly. In the second set, I was a bit more sloppy, it raised the game level, and in the third set, I was really happy with that set. There were some tight moments and I did well.”
