“The thing that comes to my mind is actually my mother, she was on a flight when I was playing the finals and that moment when a small television becomes something so big on a plane and she flies with the television on. And he saw me win from a height of 30,000 feet,” said Sharapova.

Her father is accompanying the former tennis player who has won five Grand Slam titles and in this hot moment, she tries to call her mother but she doesn’t realize that she is on a flight.
“In the field, I ran to my bag and I hugged my father, then I took my bag to take my cell phone and called my mother, forgetting that she was on the plane,” Sharapova exclaimed.
After the win at Wimbledon, the former tennis player’s mother also wanted to contact her daughter immediately.
“Meanwhile, my mother who was watching my match, tried to call me. He asks the flight attendants like, ‘Is there anything I can do, that’s my daughter. It was really a special moment,” continued Sharapova.
Maria Sharapova also talked about her family’s struggles when they moved from Russia to the US. They face a number of obstacles such as not being able to speak English. To make matters worse, her mother was unable to come to the US for the first two to three years after being constrained by a visa.
