Helmut Marko, Red Bull Formula 1 team advisor, says that the time is likely to lose Pierre Gasly. He claims as his contract expires with the team at the end of next season. The French is likely to leave if he is not offered a place at senior team.
Gasly enjoyed the Red Bull support through-out his career. He graduated to F1 with Toro Rosso at the end of 2017.
The Frenchman was provided an opportunity to run with Red Bull in 2019. He was demoted back to junior team because he was unable to impress against Verstappen.
However, Gasly shined with AlphaTauri where he managed to secure a win in 2020 at Monza. Additionally, he picked two more podium positions and scored highest scores for the team.

Gasly impressed with his performances, which led to suggestions of his return to Red Bull. Gerhard Berger, Toro Rosso co-owner, also suggested his return as he was “good enough to get another chance”.
Marko spoke with Formel1.de regarding Gasly’s contract which is due at the end of 2023. He suggests that the team could lose the Frenchman. But claims he has to show a competitive performance to that of Sergio Perez.
“Gerhard is right, but at the moment we still have a contract with Checo,” Marko said.
“We have to compare the performance of these two drivers, and with Checo we still have until the middle of the year.
“With Gasly we still have a contract until 2023, and it’s already clear that if this contract expires and we can’t offer him a chance to move up, we will most likely lose him, and we don’t want that.”
Gasly showed his desire for a place at Red Bull squad. He told Autosport that he has one more chance to claim the seat.
“I’m focused on doing my best right now, but obviously I want to be in a fast car to fight for wins and victories and that’s the only thing that matters,” Gasly said.
“I want to win in Formula 1 and I’ve got to have a car which allows me to win. We’ll discuss that with Helmut when it will be the right moment.”
