Marquinhos Happy After Officially Extending Contract with PSG

PSG mainstay defender, Marquinhos admits that he is very happy after officially extending his contract with Les Parisiens – PSG’s nickname. Marquinhos even called his contract extension this time a very special moment in his life.

Marquinhos got a very long new contract from PSG. The Brazilian passport defender will strengthen Les Parisiens until the summer of 2028.

Marquinhos himself is one of PSG’s senior defenders. He is recorded as having strengthened the team based at the Parc des Princes for 10 years since being brought in from AS Roma in 2013.

Thanks to his experiences, the 29-year-old player is now trusted as the PSG captain. He also helped present many trophies for Les Parisiens including seven French League titles.

Responding to the new contract he got, Marquinhos admitted that he was very happy. The former Corinthians player also stated that this moment was very special in his life.

“I am very happy. This is a very special moment for me, for my life, for my family’s life. I am very happy to announce this contract extension, but also very proud,” said Marquinhos as quoted from the official PSG website, Friday (19/5/2023).

“Paris Saint-Germain has always given me a lot of confidence, and I am also very confident at this club. I’m happy here. I think we can achieve a lot of great things and I hope we will succeed in doing so,” continued Marquinhos.

Apart from that, Marquinhos is also determined to bring PSG to win more titles. He wants Les Parisiens to develop and get more support from the fans.

“Yes, that’s for sure. I want to take Paris Saint-Germain as far as possible. As far as possible, which means we want titles, to see the club grow, to have more supporters, people, children watching us on television, in stadiums. And I think that’s the overall goal I want to achieve in the coming years with Paris.”
