Max Cook to make Superbike debut with Cheshire Mouldings FS-3 Racing Kawasaki in 2023. The 19-year-old rider makes the move from the Junior Superstock championship and follows Rory Skinner as a young talent with the FS-3 Kawasaki team.
Team Manager of Cheshire Mouldings Kawasaki, Nigel Snook, admitted that he’s pleased with records so far.
“We’ve been supporting Max for six years and have been really impressed with his progress. He’s served his apprenticeship winning the BSB Moto 3 championship in 2017, then progressing through the British Talent Cup, Red Bull Rookies and the Junior World Championship.” Snook said.
“His talent really shone through this year as he dominated the Junior Superstock Championship and made a very impressive Supersport debut at the final round at Brands Hatch.” he added.
The Cheshire Moldings Kawasaki team has proven its power to help young riders in taking the next step in their careers. The team sponsors the Kawasaki Racing Team in World Superbikes as well as different riders and teams in the British Superbike paddock.
So far, the Cheshire Moldongs Kawasaki has set up an extensive winter testing program to help Cook master the powerful 1000cc Ninja ZX-10RR.
“This is a dream come true for me. Firstly I want to thank Nigel and Darren for their support over six years and to finally be their rider now is so surreal!” Cook said.
“Nigel has supported me throughout my years in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, the Moto3 Junior World Championship and most recently winning the Junior Superstock 600 Championship, so he knows what I can do on a bike.” Cook added.
Cook had a successful year in 2022, wrapping up the Junior Superstock 600 title with multiple races to go.
“Of course this is a big step for me, but I feel I’m totally up for the challenge and I’m looking forward to showing people what I can do. To have Lee Jackson as my teammate is great.”
“We all know he’s very fast and he’s someone I’ve always looked up to, so I can’t wait to absorb his knowledge. I already had a taste of the superbike at the beginning of October and I am very excited to put it through its paces during winter testing!” he added.
