American boxer Floyd Maywether is ready for his last outing at T-Mobile Arena on August 26, against Conor McGregor and he intends to put a definitive end to his career on a hight note.
Maywether had signed his last victory before Andre Berto to bring his record to 49-0 in September 2015. He leaves no doubt, he claims his fight against McGregor will be his last.
“I thought my outing against Andre Berto was going to be my last fight, my last training, may last all, so I’m just happy to be here. This one will be my last fight. I gave my word and I repeat, this fight will be my last,” Mayweather said.
After retired from the ring couple years ago, the Money thinks that he takes the biggest risk when getting back into the ring, because he considers to be the one to lose most when the bell rings.
“I think I take the biggest risk,” Mayweather said. “I came in with a 49-0 record.when a fighter has already lost, the next defeat is only one more. For my part, I come with my record and my legacy in play for this fight.” he added.
The Athletic Commision of Nevada gave their verdict on the weight of the gloves in view of this fight on Wednesday. Both fighters will wear 8 ounces gloves, while the standard required 10 ounce gloves.
Maywether claimed he would not care too much with this detail, even though he hopes his opponent will be more comfertable with this formula.
“I don’t worry too mch about the outcome of the fight. I want McGregor to feel as comfortable as possible. I don’t want him to have an apology at the end of the fight,” Maywether said.

He also commented on the video that was circulating in the last few weeks when McGregor was sending his training partner Paulie Malignaggi to the mat. He was not impressed by the Video, even though he had a clear idea on the matter.
“It was an interesting video, but I think many of the shost on the video didn’t seem legal when there was a lot of snagging. I expect judges to do their job within a week.” Maywether said.
