The tone quickly escalated during the press conference between Georges St-Pierre and his next opponent Michael Bisping in the UFC. Their fight could take place around this July, according to the president of UFC, Dana White.
“I always wanted to come back,” Georges told to media. While Georges was answering a few questions from media in Las Vegas, Bisping arrived late at the press briefing. As soon as he set foot on the platform, the champion interrupted his opponent to the microphone and told him to close it.
Georges did not seem very impressed by these beautiful words from his opponent, he was accustomed to this kind of talk from his opponent throughout his career.
“I’m going to have the upper hand on you,” Georges said. “You say that at the base you are a middle-aged, and indeed you are a half-way, whereas I am an average weight. Arise, and observe the difference by yourself. I can not wait to face you.
“While you were gone because you were afraid of all those taking steroids, I had the courage to continue fighting. You left to do I do not know what, and then you come back, but the sport is on another level. Game over.” the Englishman added.
Bisping quickly responded to his opponent: “My background in mixed martial arts is more than legitimate. I have overcome many foes. I have faced several guys like Carlos Condit, (Johny) Hendricks and BJ Penn. I fought and showed a lot of heart. That’s why I’m here. My background is honorable.”
“I’m not trying to scare you. But the fact is that I am a real fighter. You are an athlete. A very good athlete, but you are only an athlete when I am a real fighter. I respect the fact that you decided to come back, but I know why you chose me. You think I’m an easy target.” he added.
Bisping is also convinced that he will be able to get rid of the one who has continued to train at Tristar Gym during his three years out of the octagon.
“George does not have enough to hurt me, and I told Dana by text message that George would not hurt me. Six weeks after beating Georges, I could take care of Yoel Romero.” he said.
