If Contador was on the virtual podium of this Vuelta, it was the Russian cyclist Ilnur Zakarin who moved to third place provisionally aftter remaining in the wheels all the stage before leaving with opportunism in the last kilometer.
One thing is certain, when the road rised, one of the most fir men in this race is the Colombian Lopez, who will have to follow closely in the third and last week.
On the other hand, in the wheelof Contador, he took over most of the escapes, including the Frenchman Romain Bardet. And after spanning the Spaniard, the Colombian took the lead man, Briton Adam Yates, and imposed himself in Solo.
