Heavyweight boxing legend, Mike Tyson, revealed that all his money and achievements mean nothing to him now, adding that they are all vanity.
“I always tell people, they think money’s gonna make them happy, they’ve never had money before, when you have a lot of money, you can’t expect nobody to love you,” Tyson said.
“You believe that you’re invincible when you have a lot of money, which isn’t true. That’s why I always say that money does not give us security.
“Can you guarantee that when you have money, you will not get sick or get in a car accident? Can money protect you from that?” Tyson added.
Tyson had it all at the height of his popularity. He is not only the youngest heavyweight champion in history, but he is also a millionaire. His net worth from boxing matches is close to $700 million.
Tyson has been swept up in a financial sudden rush despite hiis massive net worth. His fights were spectacular, but his pay was insufficient, and he soon lost everything. He was finally forced to file bankruptcy in 2003.
The 56-year-old legend turned the topic of conversation to the numbered by death the troubles it brought to his life after leaving guests and fans confused by the statement.
He said that whenever he looks in the mirror, he notices spots on his face and realises that his time will end “really soon.”
“We are all gonna die one day, of course. Then, when I look in the mirror, I see those little spots on my face, I say, ‘Wow. That means my expiration date is coming close, really soon’.” he added.
Tyson retired from the game at the age of 38 in 2005. However, he has taken part in exhibition games after his retirement.
