Mike Tyson insisted he doesn’t want anyone to have doubts. He is still not going to hang up his gloves for good and plans to return to the ring, even if it is to play another charity and exhibition match.
When asked if he plans to return to the ring in 2021, Tyosn said: “Of course. Our first show broke records. Now everyone is interested in getting involved in some way.”
Iron Mike fought Roy Jones Jr. behind closed doors amid the coronavirus at Staples Center in late 2020 and the match ended in a draw.
“I’m happy with a draw. I thought I won but I’m happy because we entertanined the fans. I’m used to doing it for three minutes. I’m just happy I got under my belt and I’m going to continue to do more.” Tyson said.
At the moment there is no date or rival for Tyson’s next fight, but the boxer continues to train to be in top form when the time comes. Of course, so that no one can relax, the Brooklyn fighter himself warned everyone.
Although some names like Evander Holyfield , Lennox Lewis and Kevin McBride are being considered as possible opponents of Tyson for 2021, nothing is clear yet.
However, the last few months have also seen Holyfield get back into boxing training that sparked comeback chatter him. Holyfield also touched on the possibility of fighting Tyson a third time, but nothing to came to fruition.
“My side tried to make the fight happen and we got nothing but excuses. Now I can see why he wanted a tuneup fight before thinking about fight me. No more excuses, this is the fight that must happen for both our legacies.” Holyfield said.
