Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones: Brutality against Speed

Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones: Brutality against Speed

Mike Tyson will duel against Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition boxing match on November 28 or Sunday (29/11). How did the fight will go?

Considering the exhibition match, from a boxing point of view, of course the match will be unpredictable. Unlike the case with football legends exhibitions when the game takes place more relaxed, especially when defending.

In boxing, an exhibition match would be different. There’s no way Roy Jones will be willing to take Mike Tyson’s serious blow. Even though he is 54 years old, I believe that Mike Tyson’s punch can still have a devastating effect on Roy Jones who is also an old man.

The duel will then run for a period of eight rounds, each of which takes two minutes. Mike Tyson and Roy Jones had protested the two-minute duration, but it was ideal for the two old knights.

With a duration of two minutes per round, the ‘explosive power’ of the two boxers can be maintained. They can be seen as being aggressive and not just standing in the ring.

The total minutes that both boxers will devour is 16 minutes, less than half of the total round that an active boxer can spend, which is 36 minutes.

Mike Tyson stated that the fight against Roy Jones was not just an exhibition match. He will seriously progress with the determination to overthrow Roy Jones while ignoring the rules that bind this fight.

From the start, Roy Jones also realized that the exhibition duel against Mike Tyson was not a friendly situation. He will be hunted by ‘Baddest Man of The Planet’, a terrible figure who has been a legend for years.

The course of the match will be influenced by the stamina and endurance of the two boxers.

Mike Tyson is clearly the main character in this fight. The public certainly wants to see and feel the sensation of Mike Tyson’s hitting back at the age of 50.

From the rehearsal videotapes, Mike Tyson’s hitting combinations are terrifying. Mike Tyson’s body shape also looks more muscular than in previous years.

However, the boxing ring is quite extensive. Mike Tyson’s punch should be supported by good footwork in pushing Roy Jones.

The choice then fell on Roy Jones. In terms of physical condition and age, Roy Jones is younger. In addition, he just retired in 2018. That means Roy Jones’ adaptation and adjustment period is shorter than Mike Tyson, who has been on hiatus for a dozen years.

The battle will certainly be more interesting and easier for Mike Tyson if Roy Jones is willing to duel at close range. However, it is clearly very risky for Roy Jones, whose body weight is lighter than Mike Tyson.

What could happen is that Mike Tyson looked aggressive in the early rounds. All the punch combinations that he shows in the training videos can be put into practice in the boxing ring.

Roy Jones may also want to heat things up by fighting in close quarters in the early rounds. He will rely on agility to dodge while remaining in the swap zone.

But as Roy Jones felt the impact of Mike Tyson’s punch that might land, not badly, Roy Jones began to practice his superiority in agility.

Although the name Mike Tyson is more popular, Roy Jones, who is also a legend, certainly doesn’t want to just be a companion or even an enemy in this exhibition match. Roy Jones’s pride as a world champion will make him react and counterattack.

Roy Jones will dance in front of Mike Tyson who will appear like a ‘crusher’. Roy Jones will be in and out quickly into the Mike Tyson defense area.

Roy Jones would come in, throw a punch, then move back away until it was out of Mike Tyson’s reach.

Of the eight rounds that are staged, the first three are probably the most interesting. After that the battle tension will decrease as the stamina starts to run out. The tension of the match will rise again in the last round because the two boxers will spend all the things that are left in them.

Taking into account the age of a boxer, it is also possible for the duel to stop halfway because one of the fighters can no longer force himself to exchange blows.

Mike Tyson’s punch is scary and can knock Roy Jones down for a moment, but when it comes to overall fighting strategy, Roy Jones seems to be superior to Mike Tyson in this exhibition duel.
