Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta, admitted that he was confident that his team could beat Bayern Munich in the second leg of the 2023-2024 Champions League quarter-finals. The two teams faced each other at the Allianz Arena, Thursday (18/4/2024).
In the first leg meeting, the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. For this reason, the second leg will be decisive for the two teams in the race for tickets to the semifinals.
Mikel Arteta said his team would try to perform well from the start of the match against the home team. Of course, the Gunners – Arsenal’s nickname, have made quite thorough preparations for that match.
“A performance that took us to the semifinals of the Champions League. All preparations have been made to achieve that, and get it,” said Mikel Arteta as quoted from Arsenal’s website, Wednesday (17/4/2024).
“We have been ready for 10 months and everything we did last season to start the journey in the Champions League after many years,” he added.
The 32 year old coach said Arsenal’s chance of qualifying for the Champions League semifinals was wide open. However, his team must beat Bayern Munich in the next match even though it will not be easy.
“Tomorrow (early this morning) we have an extraordinary opportunity to make it happen,” he said
Mikel Arteta realizes that Arsenal will definitely come under tremendous pressure from the home team’s supporters. However, he ensured that Arsenal was fully prepared to overcome this.
“They will be very motivated, they are ready and confident and that is something we have to show tomorrow against an experienced opponent, but we have to make it happen,” he said.
