Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta, stated that his team performed quite well by winning 3-0 over Bournemouth in Week 36 of the 2023-2024 Premier League. The meeting between the two teams took place at the Emirates Stadium, London, Saturday 4 May 2024.
Arteta said his team showed its quality in this match. He didn’t expect the Gunners to win big over Bournemouth even though they needed hard work throughout the match.
“I never thought that would happen,” said Arteta, quoted from Arsenal’s official website, Sunday (6/5/2024).
“I thought we were extraordinary, we were very calm on the ball, very aggressive without the ball. “We created so many chances,” added the man from Spain.
Furthermore, Arteta said that Bournemouth was also causing difficulties for his team. He appreciated The Cherries for providing tough resistance to Arsenal.
“Praise also goes to Bournemouth, they changed a few things. They created some problems for us and the game became a little more open,” said Arteta.
The 42 year old man said that his team’s attack pattern was quite effective when putting pressure on the opposing team. The reason is, Arsenal can maximize opportunities to score goal after goal and achieve the targeted victory.
“We were very efficient in front of goal to score goals, and kept another clean sheet,” stressed Arteta.
Arsenal is now at the top of the Premier League standings with 84 points from 36 matches. They are one point ahead of Manchester City in second place, who still have one game in savings.
