Mikel Arteta Refuses To Join Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain, one of the most prestigious football clubs in Europe, is reportedly interested in Mikel Arteta as their potential new manager.

The news shocked many because Arteta is currently still managing Arsenal in the Premier League.

However, PSG see great potential in Arteta’s tactical and leadership abilities, who have proven successful in building Arsenal’s team.

Arteta, who was a successful former player at big clubs such as Barcelona and Arsenal, has shown his talent as a manager since being appointed as Arsenal manager in December 2019.

The Spaniard managed Arsenal to the FA Cup title in his first season and led them to the English League Cup final in the following season.

Arteta maintained his skill to design team strategies and motivate players despite Arsenal is yet to face big successes in the Premier League.

PSG, which is currently backed by football stars such as Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, is looking for a manager who can lead The Parisians to the Champions League trophy.

Even though PSG have dominated French football by clinching various domestic titles, they are still fighting for the top honours in Europe. Therefore, they see Arteta as the ideal candidate to bring about change and lead PSG to international success.

As well as his success as a manager, Arteta is also known for his innovative and flexible approach to the game. He often rotates players and changes formations according to the opponent he is facing. This allows his team to adapt well in different game situations.

Arteta, on the other hand, decided to stay at Arsenal, the team he has managed since early 2020. This action shows his commitment to the club and the long-term project he has started there.

“I can only say that I am happy at Arsenal. I feel loved, valued by our owners, Stan and Josh [the two Kroenkes], and I have a lot to do here at this club. I am happy and tremendously grateful to be at Arsenal.” Arteta said.

“I have been away for many years and at some point it could be an option to return to the League and have other experiences. But [not] now.” Arteta added.
