The Reale Avintia Racing Team rider Johann Zarco sets reasonable goals to bounce back in 2020, after a difficult 2019 season at Red Bull KTM.

The Frenchman will soon find out the Ducati after having tested the Suzuki, ridden for two years on the Yamaha, for a few months with the KTM and then made three GPs on the Honda. His first contact with his new motorbike of the Demosedici GP19 will take place on February 7 during the Sepang test.

“I am very pleased to officially announce my signature with Ducati for 2020 season in MotoGP category racing in the Reale Avintia Racing Team.” Zarco said.

“My left ankle is recovering well, I can enjoy now my winter time having rest with family and training again very soon.

“Returning to the top 7 or 10 on all races would be good. For the time being, it is better to resume reasonable objectives, then to aim for podiums and victories.” Zarco added.

Back in November, Aprilia rider Aleix Espargaro said Zarco doesn’t deserve the Repsol Honda ride he’s been linked to and would rather welcome seeing Alex Marquez join his brother Marc at the team.

Meanwhile, Raul Romero, owner of the Reale Avintia Racing Team admitted he was so excited to have a great rider like Zarco.

“I am really happy and excited with a great rider like Johann Zarco to our team from the hand of Ducati. This further strengthens the growth of the team after extending the contract with the Manufacter of Borgo Panigale, making a leap of quality in terms of material by becoming a satellite team.” Romero said.

“All this package will allow to reflect in the circuits the effort of the structure in the last years. We hope to see Johann and Tito assiduously in the top ten and become a reference team soon. Finally, we would like to thank all our sponsors for their efforts in recent years, without them this would not have been possible.” he added.
