The names of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are always at the forefront when discussing who is the best footballer today. Even so, according to Jose Mourinho, such an assumption will not last long because there is Kylian Mbappe who is ready to replace him.
Mourinho does consider Mbappe as an extraordinary player, who can certainly replace the era of Ronaldo and Messi. With the ability of the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) striker, Mourinho believes whichever team he is defending must have a great chance of winning.
Because every time Mbappe plays, he often sees the opposing team change their style of play because the French player often gives difficulties. For the Portuguese coach, a player like Mbappe is really a hassle for the opposing team.
Mourinho also predicts Mbappe will soon be named the world’s best player and win the Ballon d’Or trophy. Because Ronaldo and Messi according to the Mourinho era has ended.
“When you have Mbappe in your team it’s very difficult not to win games. You will find it much easier to win (when you are in a team with Mbappe),” said Mourinho, as reported by Talksport, Wednesday (9/6/2021).
“He is one of those players who will win games, frighten the opponents he faces, to the point of pushing the opposing team to change their style of play because of the quality that these players have,” added the former Real Madrid coach.
“With Messi and Ronaldo in their late 30s. So I think he will be the next best player.”
So far, Mbappe’s name has been mentioned as worthy of competing for the title of the world’s best player. Especially if you look at the performance of Messi and Ronaldo, which are not as good as they were a few seasons ago.
So, it’s only natural that Mourinho also endorsed Mbappe to replace the glorious era of Messi and Ronaldo. Moreover, statistically, Mbappe, who is still 22 years old, has now successfully collected 163 goals.
A goal that is certainly extraordinary. Now football lovers are just waiting whether Mbappe will really be able to become the world’s best footballer like Ronaldo and Messi?
