Mourinho gives the green light and says goodbye to Fernando Torres for two years
The magnificent Spanish footballer, the incredible striker that made thousands of fans shiver during the matches he played, a very controversial player that most of football lover adored at some point of his career, the fantastic “El Niño” is now officially in AC Milan on loan from Chelsea, as sources affirmed today.
Fernando José Torres Sanz was born in Fuenlabrada in Spain. At that time young player, Torres started his career at Madrid’s giant – Atlético Madrid and went further and further to the first team squad with his brilliant playing. He appeared 174 times in La Liga and scored as much as 75 goals according to statistics.
In addition, Torres went on with his brilliant career and played four seasons in Liverpool – the team that will make him one of the biggest players so far. However, in January 2011 Torres signed for Chelsea for brilliant £50 million as some sources reported to be the value of this transfer. This transfer, that everybody can agree that is enormous, set a fresh record for a British transfer history! On the 31st of January Torres official became two things: Chelsea’s football player and also the sixth most expensive footballer in history of football transfers. The irony made its way through when during his first match in Chelsea on 6th of February 2011 Chelsea was defeated by his former club Liverpool. The season 2010-11 in Chelsea was not so brilliant for Torres, though. He made 18 appearances for this new club and scored only one goal against West Ham United when Chelsea won 3:0.
On the 31st of August 2014 Fernando Torres affirmed that he cannot express his excitement about moving to AC Milan on a two-year-long loan. It was on Saturday when Spanish striker arrived in Italy and began with the medical tests in order everything goes according to the plan.
Some people believe that the agreement Chelsea made with Milan will help Torres find out what was wrong in the past years with his game. It is understandable that this change might do him good in order to try to rich the level that he played at when he was on the top of his career.
In the next season Torres will played in a shirt number nine and he didn’t try to hide his excitement about arriving in Milan. He affirmed that he is really happy about this transfer and that playing in Milan is an honor and a privilege, after all.
