Neal Skupski and his brother Ken lost in the second round of Wimbledon men’s doubles this season to runners-up Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos.
But the journey of his sister at Wimbledon this season did not end in that round.
The hosts, along with Desirae Krawczyk, beat home duo Harriet Dart and Joe Salisbury 6-2, 7-6 to win the 2021 mixed doubles Wimbledon title.
“I still can’t really believe we won Wimbledon. This is insane,” Skupski exclaimed.

“Once we finished the trophy presentation ceremony, then walked off the pitch, and our names were on the winners’ honor board, which I still can’t believe. This feels unreal. But I think we deserve it.”
Both have lost just one set throughout the London Grand Slam as they beat John Peers and Zhang Shuai in the semifinals 3-6, 7-6, 7-5.
“This is my favorite tournament. It’s something I never imagined would happen, but of course you dream about playing on the main court and that was my first feeling about it,” Krawczyk said.
“Then winning the mixed doubles title with Neal was even better.”
In the top party, the winning team did not face a single break point. They won more than 81 percent of the points from their first serve against Salisbury and Dart before sealing the title after 1 hour 21 minutes.
“I think it was one of our best matches in all of the Grand Slams this time. It’s never easy to play against compatriots, especially for Desirae who was once on the same team as Joe,” continued Neal Skupski.
Krawczyk, who won the mixed doubles French Open with Salisbury, said he would play with her again at the US Open.
“Desirae is heating up in the mixed doubles at the moment and hopefully that doesn’t continue at the US Open,” Skupski joked. “But it was amazing all week with Desirae. An unbelievable feeling.”
