Negotiations are smooth, Graham Potter will be announced as Chelsea’s new coach in a matter of hours. It was reported directly by the journalist Fabrizio Romano, that an agreement had been reached between the two parties.
Graham Potter is the leading candidate to fill the vacant Chelsea coaching chair following the sacking of Thomas Tuchel on Wednesday 7 September 2022.
The English coach is considered the right candidate after proving his capabilities during his time in charge of Brighton & Hove Albion.
Surprisingly, the negotiations went smoothly. Brighton management invited Chelsea to speak directly with Potter.
Brighton left the decision in Potter’s hands. The 47-year-old coach then agreed to Chelsea’s offer.
As a result, Chelsea are now one step away from inaugurating Potter as a new coach. According to Fabrizio, the agreement between Chelsea and the Potters has been completed.
“Graham Potter will be appointed as the new Chelsea manager, as expected, The deal is in place, the contract is now being prepared as the proposal has been accepted, here we go,” Fabrizio said via his personal Twitter, Thursday (8/9/2022).
Furthermore, Fabrizio said that the process of completing Chelsea’s negotiations with Brighton was ongoing. The Italian journalist said that Chelsea’s negotiations with Brighton would be completed in the next few hours. “Chelsea will finalise the deal with Brighton in the next few hours.”
