Neymar took leave Wednesday morning of his teammates FC Barcelona and is due to be presented this weekend by Paris Saint-Germain for a record transfer.
Barcelona have announced that the Brazilian striker has asked permission to join the French Ligue 1 PSG with a 222 million euros.
“The player Neymar Jr, accompanied by his father and agent, has informed FC Barcelona this morning [Wednesday] of his decision to leave the club in a meeting held at the club’s offices.” Barca wrote.
“Faced with this position, the club has informed them they refer to the buy-out clause of his existing contract which as of 1 July totals 222 millions euros which will have to be deposited in its entirety.
“Furthemore, in reply to the claim for the contract extension bonus, the club has once again made it clear that the amount remain deposited with a notary until the case is resolved.
“The player remains under at FC Barcelona but with temporary permission to not take part in training sessions.” Barca added.
Neymar stayed for half an hour at the training centre, where he first went to the coach’s office to inform his departure and then to the locker room where he taken leave of his team-mates on by one, according to report.
Neymar team-mate Lionel Messi addressed a message on Instagram after the 25-year-old confirmed to go to his new club. “It has been a huge pleasure to spend all these years with you, amigo @neymarjr. I wish you much luck in this new phase of your life.” Messi wrote.

PSG is about to settle the 222 million euros of Neymar’s clause contract with the Catalan club, an astronomical sum that explodes the current record of Paul Pogba from Juventus to Manchester United last year.
“We will pay the clause, as soon as Neymar game me the green light, on August 1, I went to Paris and I brought back a proposal from PSG to pay the clause, which will be done in the next few hours,” Neymar advisor Wagner Ribero said.
Neymar joined Barca from Santos in 2013, he won two La Liga honours and one Champions League title as a Barcelona player. He scored 17 goals and 19 assisted in 39 games last season for Barcelona.
