Nick Kyrgios, an Australian tennis player, feels Novak Djokovic has never looked daunted during the 2022 Wimbledon final.
The 27-year-old also added that a player must have an animal mentality to win a Grand Slam. He stepped into a Grand Slam final for the first time in his career at Wimbledon in the 2022 season.
The world number 45 played very well in this season’s Wimbledon final, but it was Serbian Djokovic who ended up winning 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6.

“You just have to have an animal mentality to win a Grand Slam. Novak, Roger and Rafa, I think I respect them more at the moment,” Nick Kyrgios said.
“Playing against one of them in a Grand Slam final, he feels fresh, it feels like he hasn’t played tennis for the last two weeks, and he doesn’t seem to be afraid.”
The Australian may not have won the first Grand Slam title of her career, but here she has a clear picture of what she needs to do to win one of the most prestigious titles in tennis.
“You can lose a Grand Slam in one day, but you can’t win it. It takes so much time. You know, you play a game and you get one day off, then you play again, then you pause again. It’s like a mental struggle to keep doing the same thing again and again for two weeks at the highest level.
“There are so many different, intangible things. You may feel sick one day, like when I felt sick before I played Filip Krajinovic. Your body hurts, mentally. I couldn’t sleep for two days after Rafa resigned. Physically, I feel great, but mentally, you know it.”
After beating Kyrgios in the Wimbledon final, Djokovic, who now has 21 Grand Slam titles, motivated the Australian to stay motivated and told him he would definitely go further in another Grand Slam.
