Nigma Galaxy’s resurgence continues as they qualify for their second Tier 1 tournament of the year.
Nigma Galaxy fans can finally breathe easy – the Dota 2 stalwarts are back! For the first time since the team was founded in 2019, Nigma Galaxy triumphed in a Western Europe (WEU) qualifier to secure a spot in PGL Wallachia Season 4.
The team made it through the WEU Closed Qualifier without losing a single series, claiming the throne with a dominant upper bracket run that culminated with a 3-1 rout over Team Secret in the finals. With this victory, Nigma Galaxy joins a lineup of 16 team in the fourth edition of PGL Wallachia.
Nigma Galaxy go on long-awaited resurgence
Just a few months ago, Nigma Galaxy struggled to qualify for Tier 1 events in the Middle East and Western Asia (MESWA) region. Now, they’ve just dominated the more competitive Western European qualifier, placing ahead of notable teams like OG, Gaimin Gladiators, and Team Secret.
This result comes shortly after their loss in the FISSURE Universe: Episode 4 WEU qualifier, where they were defeated by Yakult Brothers. However, only hours after that loss, Nigma Galaxy bounced back to secure a spot in PGL Wallachia Season 4.
While this victory is a significant milestone for the organization, it wasn’t exactly a huge surprise. Nigma Galaxy have enjoyed a strong start to the year, first qualifying for ESL One Raleigh 2025 and then clinching a fourth place finish at BLAST Slam II. The team has been riding a wave of momentum, which could lead to even stronger performances in upcoming events.
It’s also worth noting that these recent achievements came after Nigma Galaxy brought in Malaysian carry player Daniel Chan “Ghost” Kok Hong as a stand-in, temporarily replacing their star player, Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi.
Looking ahead, Nigma Galaxy has two major LAN events lined up. The team will attend ESL One Raleigh in the United States, starting April 7. Then, just days after ESL One Raleigh concludes, PGL Wallachia Season 4 will kick off on April 19.
