The NBA on Friday has released the latest update of the race for the MVP award and Nikola Jokic remains in the lead in the final stretch of the season.
The Denver Nuggets star, after all, has topped the rankings for over two months. Since it took the first position, therefore, it has not left it.
Jokic’s season is worthy of an NBA MVP. The pivot has triple-double averages, with 24.6 points, 11.7 rebounds and ten assists per game.
In addition, he is the big name of the Nuggets, which leads the Western Conference handily and has one of the best campaigns in the league.
The Serbian star lives, in fact, a historic year. Jokic became one of six players in NBA history with 100 triple-doubles on Tuesday.
Jokic, then, has 15 matches with three items above double digits in the last 20 played. In 2022/23 there are already 24 scored in 55 games played.
Second on the list is Giannis Antetokounmpo with an equally dominant season as his rival, he is mainly responsible for the great trajectory of the Milwaukee Bucks.
The team, it turns out, took the lead from the Boston Celtics last week with a 16-game unbeaten streak.
Antetokounmpo was injured last week and was embezzled for the Bucks. However, he has not lost his momentum.
When he returned, the star was dominant against the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday, making his eighth game with 30-plus points and 15 rebounds this season. Likewise, in the last match against the Orlando Magic, he also surpassed the 30-point mark.
Behind Jokic and Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum appears in third place in the race for the MVP of the NBA season. The young Boston Celtics star is in one of the best years of his career.
There were two defeats throughout the week and the winger had scores below his average in 2022/23.
