Feyenoord coach Arne Slot has surprisingly confirmed that he will be Liverpool’s tactician in the 2024-2025 season. He decided to leave Feyenoord to become Jurgen Klopp’s successor to the team nicknamed The Reds.
“I can confirm that I will be a coach at Liverpool next season,” said Slot as quoted by Football365, Saturday (18/5/2024).
Slot’s statement was made in a press conference ahead of the Feyenoord vs Excelsior match, which is the last week’s match in the 2023-2024 Dutch League. The match will take place in De Kuip, Rotterdam, Netherlands on Sunday (19/5/2024).
After the match, Feyenoord will hold a farewell ceremony with Arne Slot. In this way, club management has also confirmed the departure of the 45 year old formation player.
“The final league match of the season against Excelsior next Sunday is officially Arne Slot’s last match as Feyenoord coach,” wrote a Feyenoord statement.
“As soon as the final match of the season ends, Feyenoord will organize a farewell moment for Slot, who can look back on successful times at De Kuip, with titles and trophies, among others,” the statement added.
Arne Slot himself is one of the coaches who has successfully brought Feyenoord to success in the last two seasons. The coach who was born in Bergentheim, the Netherlands was able to bring Feyenoord to win the Dutch League (2022-2023) and the Dutch Cup (2023-2024).
Slot’s contract is actually still quite long until June 30 2026. However, the confirmation that has been given ensures that Arne Slot will join Liverpool starting next season.
