Novak Djokovic Admits He Feels Proud, Motivated By Breaking Records

Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic Serbian tennis player is a very motivated individual and has no problem admitting that records motivate him.

There’s clearly more to it than that because the world number 1 tennis player doesn’t just play to chase records. He plays because he really loves tennis and has done it most of his life. But according to the tennis player, it would be wrong to say he doesn’t care about achievements and records.

In his mind, admitting this is a natural thing because in the end competitive sport is about winning. All tennis players compete because they want to win. Not all tennis players reach that level, but the motivation is the same for others.

While other tennis players might feel uncomfortable admitting this, the Serbian tennis player is quite open about it. In several recent interviews on 60 Minutes, he admitted that he is chasing records.

“For me, it is normal. For example, be honest about it and be yourself, and express what you feel. I just try to be honest with myself and others and say what my goals and objectives are. So, it’s as simple as that,” said Novak Djokovic, who this season won three Grand Slam titles.

The tennis player who has bagged 24 Grand Slam titles always has a need to be himself. It was something he was very dedicated to and staked his legacy on. We all know his stance on the COVID-19 vaccine, but that is who he is.

The world No. 1 chose to diminish his legacy, which he did by skipping several tournaments to stay true to himself. Hate it or like it, this is a commendable thing and very rare nowadays. He’s chasing records and he has no problem admitting it.

With the way Djokovic has been playing lately, the player may run out of records to break as he will end up bagging them all, but it shows his dedication and how incredible his career has been so far.
