Manchester United coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, officially extended his contract period on Saturday (24/7/2021) afternoon WIB. He recently extended his contract with Man United until 2024.

In his new contract, Solskjaer signed a three-year contract. That way, the 48-year-old coach will manage Manchester United until June 30, 2024.

Manchester United’s executive vice chairman, Ed Woodward, said he was happy to retain Solskjaer’s services. According to him, the Norwegian coach is the right person to handle the Red Devils squad – the nickname of Manchester United.

“Ole (Gunnar Solskjaer) and his staff have worked tirelessly to lay the foundations for long-term success on the pitch,” said Ed.

“The results have been increasingly visible over the last two seasons and we are all looking forward to seeing this exciting team develop further in the years to come.”

Man United did manage to show progress during Solskjaer’s management. Last season, Man United finished runners-up in the Premier League and Europa League.

In addition, Ed also hopes that Solskjaer can also continue to develop the talents of young players. Later, the presence of young talent can be combined with senior players.

“What’s really exciting is the way this progress is being made with a mix of young players, local talent and top-class signings, playing attacking football in the best of Manchester United traditions. We are more confident than ever that, under Ole’s leadership, we are heading in the right direction.”

Meanwhile, Solskjaer is also happy to be able to extend his contract at Manchester United. He said he was very happy to be able to manage the club that had led him to win the 1999 Champions League.

“Everyone knows the feelings I have for this club, and I am delighted to have signed this new contract. This is an exciting time for Manchester United,” said Ole on the same occasion.

Furthermore, Solskjaer hopes to win more titles with the Red Devils. He is ready to face every challenge that lies ahead.

“I have a fantastic team of coaches around me, and we are all ready to take the next step in our journey,” said Ole proudly.

“Manchester United want to win the biggest and best trophies and that’s what we are all fighting for. We have improved, both on and off the pitch, and that will continue in the coming seasons.”
