Ousmane Dembele has signed for five years deal with FC Barcelona for 105 million euros from Bundesliga clubs Borussia Dortmund on Friday (25/8). Dembele will try to make a place in the Blaugrana forward, alongside Messi and Suarez since Neymar left the club for Paris Saint-Germain.
Dembele, after a great season in Bundesliga with 10 goals and 22 assists in 49 matches in all competitions, gives a new dimesion to his young career.
“FC Barcelona will therefore pay the BVB a fixed transfer fee of 105 million euros and the payment of variable transfer costs has been agreed up to a maximum of 40% of the amount of compensation transfer,” Dortmund said.
Dortmund added that the amount of the transfer fee rises to 147 million euros with bonus. The bonuses amount to a maximum 42 million euros, making it the second highest transfer in history behind former Barca’s Neymar Jr and his 222 million euros.
The amount paid for Dembele also equaled the one that Manchester United had given to buy Juventus player Paul Pogba plus 5 million euros bonuses.
The young talented player had gone out of his way with Dortmund, refushing to train since August 10. He was then suspended until further notice by Dortmund management. Dembele arrived on Sunday in Barcelona and spends Monday his medical visit, sign his contract and will be officially presented.
On the other hand, Barca asked Philippe Coutinho to threaten Liverpool not to play any more for the Reds to move up the transfer. According to report, the Brazilian will still be Liverpool’s player this season at the end of the summer transfer.

Liverpool insisted at all costs to keep Coutinho to participate in the fight for the English Premier League title and to be well in the European Cup. Jurgen Klopp’s side therefore refused all the offers from the Catalan club, even the wildest amounting to 130 million euros.
Coutinho is currently injured on the back, he did not intend to go to clash with the Reds. The 25-year-old, who renewed his contract with Liverpool last January, has only followed the advice of his agents. He should play for the Premier League club after the international break.
